first annual Monsignor DeBlanc Service Award from Msgr. Irving DeBlanc. Bordlee receives award for. exemplary service
The first Monsignor DeBlanc Service Award has been presented to Frances Bordlee; a recent graduate of St. Louis Catholic High School. St. Louis
established the award to recognize the outstanding leadership and community
service of students in Catholic schools of the Diocese of Lake Charles. These annual awards of a
plaque and a $250 certificate of deposit are intended to encourage young people
to make service a way of life. The plaque represents the
hands of Christ washing the feet of the Apostles and bears an inscription from
Matthew 20:23 - "I've come not to be served but to serve.” Bordlee has shown extraordinary service„„„ volunteering in school, church, community activities and beyond,
according to the diocese. She is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Bruce Bordlee of Lake Charles. A plaque in each school will be erected and the name of each year's
