1985-86.
The next year, 1985-86, Sir Knight CLARENCE L. DUHON was
elected as Faithful Navigator in his own right, and during his term, the
assembly contributed $1,250 to the Statue of Liberty Fund for the Fourth
Degree. The assembly held a special meeting at Fort Polk, Louisiana, to
hear an address by the new commanding general, and for the first time,
members of the assembly visited the Armed Forces veterans who were
patients in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Alexandria.
The Color Corps participated in the
Acadian Odyssey Mass on December 8, marking the 200th anniversary of the
arrival of Acadian refugees in Louisiana. Additionally
the Color Corps participated in the first Red Mass in Lake Charles
in a number of years.
There were two Exemplifications of
the Fourth Degree held during Duhon's term, and a total of 53 new members
was added to the assembly's rolls
The assembly won the Master's Award
under Faithful Navigator Duhon's leadership.
