1981-82.
DENNIS P. FONTENOT of
Kinder followed as Faithful Navigator, carrying out the tried and true
assembly programs. At 29 years of age, he was the assembly's youngest
Faithful Navigator. The Color Corps participated in twelve church
functions and three civic appearances during the year.
Membership was a major goal and 31 new members were Exemplified in
ceremonies held in Shreveport. This, with all ofthe other activities,
brought the Master's Award home once more.
A major event was the 75th anniversary of Calcasieu Council 1207, the
"Mother of Columbianism" in Southwest Louisiana. A Guard of
Honor numbering 35 was present at the anniversary mass, and a crowd of 300
attended the banquet in the Civic Center, at which the Columbian Hall of
Fame was inaugurated.
