1974-75. During
Faithful Navigator WHITNEY J. HEBERT'S term, the assembly
voted to assist in the erection of a monument at St. Martin of Tours
Church in St. Martinville, which would be dedicated to 43 Revolutionary
War soldiers buried there. The assembly also accepted the challenge of
assisting officials in finding and marking graves of veterans buried in
the assembly area.
State Deputy William Martinez was a guest speaker at the installation
banquet, and Bishop Gerard Frey spoke at the anniversary banquet. The
assembly gained 15 new members at an Exemplification held in Alexandria.
