1971-72. Faithful
Navigator JULES P. SNATIC inaugurated a series of
lectures each month on the religious orders serving in the Diocese of
Lafayette. The major programs of the assembly were continued, and the
Color Corps mounted a Guard of Honor at a Memorial Day Mass at Consoiata
Cemetery sponsored by St. Margaret Council 3208 and Veterans of Foreign
Wars Posts 2130 and 2436.
The assembly gained 13 new members at an Exemplification held in
Alexandria, and dedicated its quarterly communions to the Most Rev. Warren
L. Boudreaux, newly-named Bishop of Beaumont, and to Msgr. Louis H.
Boudreaux, newly-named Vicar General of the Diocese of Lafayette.Copies of
Our Sunday Visitor were purchased and distributed to the patients
at St. Patrick hospital.
Major General John G. Wheelock, commanding general at Fort Polk, was the
guest speaker at the assembly's anniversary banquet.
