1967-68. Under
Faithful Navigator ROY J. BREAUX |1967-68), the assembly
Color Corps marched in the Lake Charles Veterans Day parade for the first
time.
Operating under a new set of by-laws, Faithful Navigator Breaux
appointed the following chairmen of standing committees: Activities,
Truman Stacey; Religion, Louis Falgoust; Patriotism, Allen Louviere;
Fraternalism, Paul Terranova; Membership, James L. Derouen; and Public
Relations, John W. O'Reilly Sr.
During this year, the Fraternalism Committee set up the following awards
to be given annually: Sir Knight of the Year; and three separate Assembly
Awards of Merit for service to (1) the Church, (2) the Community and (3)
the Order.
At the Anniversary Banquet, Ben L. Kiper announced that Truman Stacey
was the Sir Knight of the Year, and presented Awards of Merit to Odey
Hebert and Anthony Abate for service to the assembly, to Paul Terranova
and
B.P. Babineaux for service to the church, and to Sir Knight Claude
Eagleson, sheriff of Cameron Parish, for service to the community.
The annual Memorial Service was held in St. Henry Church, and the Rev.
Harry N. Quick gave the memorial address.
Four new members
were gained during an Exemplification held in Monroe
