1962-63.
Under Faithful Navigator GEORGE F. DICK in 1962-63,
the assembly engaged in a campaign to obtain public transportation for
parochial school students, and sought to counteract the activities o fa
so-called ex-nun who gave a series of "lectures" on the
"evils" of Catholicism in the westlake and Sulphur areas.
During Faithful Navigator Dick's administration, the Supreme Board of
Directors of the Knights of Columbus voted to split Louisiana into two
districts, and Sir Knight Charles C. Jaubert of Msgr. Cramers Assembly was
appointed to be the Master of District II. The new Master appointed the
following district officers from Msgr. Cramers Assembly: Msgr. Irving
DeBlanc, District Friar; John W. O'Reilly Sr., District Marshal; and Odey
Hebert and Allen Louviere, Assistant Marshals.
On May 3, 1963, an Exemplification of the Fourth Degree was held in Lake
Charles for the first time, and the class included 23 new members of Msgr.
Cramers Assembly.
