1953-54.  JAMES A. PRICE followed Benefiel as Faithful Navigator and set up a new system of organization necessitated by the continued growth in membership. He appointed Fourth Degree representatives in each council in the assembly area and charged these representatives with the responsibility of reporting Fourth Degree news to their councils and of promoting attendance at assembly functions. Those appointed were C.H. Ruysenaars, Council 1207; C.J. Benoit, Welsh and Bell City; Lester Armand, Kinder; P.J. St. Romain Sr., Iowa; Whitney Broussard, Cameron; Clifton Woods, Sulphur; Sterling Trouard, St. Margaret Council 3208; Joseph d. Karam, Oberlin; A.J. Osterland, Oakdale and Elizabeth; and Anthony Abate, St. Hubert Council 3622.

Price also appointed a number of operating committees to assist him in developing programs. The committee chairmenwere: Membership and Admission, W.J. Moreau; Welfare, Columbus Moss; Color Corps, W.J. Dumatrait; Entertainment, Floyd J. Vincent Sr.; Publicity, L.G. McLaren; Chalice and Wakes, Columbus Moss; Arrangements, Vincent Abate Jr.; Attendance, R.B. Christman; and Communion, A.L. Broussard.

The assembly carried on a full scale of activities, including a number of lectures at meetings. Faithful Navigator Price also instituted the practice of Quarterly Communions by the assembly.

A total of 63 members formed a Guard of Honor for the annual Procession of Christ the King, the largest number yet achieved by the Color Corps. The Color Corps also took part in ceremonials connected with the State Convention of the Third Degree held in Lake Charles.

The assembly rolls grew by 34 at the annual Exemplification of the Fourth Degree.

As a result of these accomplishment, Gerald A. Zernott, Master of the Fourth Degree, declared the assembly the winner of the Master's Award as the district's outstanding assembly. It was a first for the assembly, but it would win the award 23 more times in the future
