1952-53.  HARRY E. BENEFIEL, a former head of the Department of Commerce at McNeese State College, followed Broussard as Faithful Navigator and carried on most ofthe regular programs. A new venture was an outdoor barbecue honoring all Past Faithful Navigators, which proved a huge success.  .

Duringthis administration, a new assembly was formed in Crowley, resulting in the transfer of 25 Sir Knights to Msgr. Mollo Assembly. All 25 Sir Knights were members of the Jennings and Lake Arthur councils. As a recovery, however, 17 new members were exemplified in July of 1953.

Benefiel later entered the seminary to study for the priesthood and became the first Sir Knight of the state to receive Holy Orders. He served a distinguished career in the Diocese of Lafayette before retiring in 1989
