1946-47.  SIR KNIGHT PAUL It. PERRIN was elected as the assembly's second Faithful Navigator, taking office on July 7, 1946. Sir Knight Perrin's administration concentrated upon membership, and on May 11, 1947, a total of 37 new members were exemplified in Baton Rouge. This increased the assembly's membership from 52 to 88 at the end of Sir Knight Perrin's administration.

During this administration, the first Christ the King Procession was held in Lake Charles, under the sponsorship of the assembly and Council 120

On the day after this event, the Lake Charles American Press described the event thus:

"The biggest religious event ever conducted in this section of Southwest Louisiana was held here yesterday, when an estimated 7,000 Catholics participated in a huge Eucharistic celebration in honor of Christ the King and Christopher Columbus, patron of the Knights of Columbus.

An hour-long procession of 37 organizations and groups, and an outdoor Benediction service on the Landry Memorial School campus were the high points of the observance. Catholic laymen, particularly the Knights of Columbusl who sponsored the great rally, were congratulated for their efforts in arranging the religious affair by the Rev. Irving DeBlanc, Ville Platte, principal speaker. He is the state chaplain of the Knights of Columbus."

During this administration, the assembly suffered its first deaths with the passing away of Sir Knights J.A. McNamara and Pierre F. Coco. At this time, the assembly inaugurated its policies of standing guard at the bier of a deceased member. Assembly members in full regalia reported at the funeral home and stood guard for 10 minutes by twos until the funeral home closed for the night. At the funeral, grave-side services were held, and Faithful Navigator Perrin presented the deceased members' swords to the next of kin at the grave-site.
