The Jack O'Reilly, Sr. Memorial Award

The Jack O'Reilly, Sr. Memorial Award is sponsored by his family and is presented at the Msgr. Cramers annual banquet. This banquet is held near the end of February each year. The Jack O'Reilly, Sr. Memorial Award is sponsored by his family and is presented at the Msgr. Cramers annual banquet. This banquet is held near the end of February each year.  Criteria for award includes outstanding service to the Church, Community, and the Order of the Knights of Columbus.

Jack O'Reilly was a third degree member of the Order since 1948, O'Reilly held membership in Calcasieu Council 1207 and St. Margaret Council 3208 prior to becoming a charter member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Council 4562, all of Lake Charles. He held many varied offices in each. A member of Msgr. Hubert Cramers General Assembly since 1950, he served as its Faithful Navigator from 1960-1962, receiving the Master's Award as the outstanding Assembly in the state. He served as Marshal on the staff of his predecessor, Master Charles C. Jaubert, and Master of District II from 1964 to 1966.

Jack O'Rielly, Sr.  was in a fatal automobile crash on Louisiana Highway 171, while returning home from a business trip, in 1983.

O'Reilly's two sons, Jack, Jr., and Dennis, are both members of the Order and his wife, Olive, was on the faculty at Our Lady Queen of Heaven School. O'Reilly was General Manager of KLCL/KHLA Radio Stations in Lake Charles at the time of his death.
