Ricky I was born in Lake Charles, LA in
1944. He attended TS Cooley Elem., Graduated from Sam Houston
High in 1962, then attended barber Collage in
Beaumont, Texas. He
was a barber in Baytown, Texas for 8yrs.,then
drove for Safeway
Food Stores in Houston, Texas for l7yrs. In 1987 Ricky moved back to Lake
Charles, were he married Helen
Granger in December in 1987. They were married for 13 1\2 yrs. until she
pass a way with Cancer in 2001. He worked for Borden Milk Co. for 10 yrs.
Ricky is now retired, and does a few yards on the side.
Ricky became a Catholic in 1991. He is a member of St. Margaret Catholic
Church in Lake Charles. He joined the Knights of Columbus in 1992 and is a
member of St. Margaret Knights of Columbus, Council 3208. He has held the
Offices of Grand Knight, Deputy Grand Knight, Recorder, Lecturer, Building
Association President, Liaison Officer, and administers the Bigmouth Program
for Council 3208 functions, and also Msgr. Cramers function. He was editor
of the Council News Letter, and a member
of the Area J Second & Third Exemplification team. While in Council 3208 he
has received awards of Knight of the Year 1998 and 2000, Knight of the Month
for January-1997, August -1997, and July 1999. Ricky is
also a member of Msgr. H. Carmers
Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus were he has held Offices as Outer
Sentinel, Inner Sentinel, Scribe, Pilot, Captain, and Faithful
Navigator. He has received the following awards for service to Msgr. Cramers
Assembly, Howard Jaubert Memorial Award for 1999, Family of the Year Award
for 1999-2000. |
